The transition to menopause, known as perimenopause, involves a gradual decline in estrogen and progesterone levels, leading to irregular menstrual cycles and various physical symptoms.

Entering perimenopause

Hormonal changes during this time can cause hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, low motivation, and sleep disturbances. On physical level, pains n the joints, muscles, arrhythmia and head aches or migrain, high blood pressure, muscle cramps and elevated pulse.

The pituitary gland sits just behind the forehead and its job is to produce or take order from the Thyroid and ovaries to produce more or less hormones like estrogen and progesterone. In perimenopause the production plan changes and therefore this shift can cause headaches and migrains.

Low progesterone levels during the transition to menopause can lead to symptoms such as anxiety, sleep disturbances, joint pain, fatigue, and changes in skin elasticity.

Enjoy the ride while on it :-)

In the next episodes I will tell you about the emotional sides and developments that we go through in that 3rd phase of life. Birth is the first detachement from the parents, puberty the second, career building, marrying /partnerships and having kids, then peri-menopause. In every phase there are things we let go and detach from o

ur birth-home, habits and mindset. And it is ok... so just enjoy the ride of your mind and body and follow the lead of your soul. From here, it ultimately leads to a bit more "rediscovering oneself" – such wonderful things can arise from this!
