Target Group
This training is intended for doctors, alternative practitioners, therapists, nurses, nutritionists, coaches, and other healthcare professionals who wish to expand their work with a solid, functional, and holistic understanding.

 

Duration & Certification

 

Content: 12 modules
Duration: 3-6 months (depending on own rhythm)

Requirements:

  • Completion of a final thesis based on a client case study

  • Three interim exams during the course of the training

  • To earn the title “Functional Medicine Coach,” all modules must be completed within three years

  • All modules can also be booked individually

Module Overview

Module 1: What is Functional Medicine? (2 days)
A solid introduction to the philosophy, systems thinking, individuality and methodology of functional medicine. Basics, indications, limitations, and differences compared to conventional medicine.

 

Module 2: Timeline & Matrix Work (3 days)
How to capture a patient’s medical history holistically: creating an individual timeline and functional matrix. Connecting biography, symptoms, and system relationships.

 

Module 3: Epigenetics & Trauma (2 days)
How experiences shape our genes. The role of transgenerational trauma, cellular stress, and regulatory patterns. Epigenetic therapeutic approaches.

 

Module 4: Nutrition & Micronutrients (4 days)
Nutrition fundamentals: macro- and micronutrients, trace elements, protein quality, types of fats, fiber, bioavailability, and effects on organ systems.

 

Module 5: Gut & Microbiome (4 days)
Digestion, mucosal health, gut-brain axis, immune modulation. Microbiome analysis, stool diagnostics, and therapy plans. Topics include butyrate, zonulin, histamine, dysbiosis, and leaky gut.

 

Module 6: Omega 3 and Cellular Health (3 days)
The role of EPA/DHA, omega-6:3 ratio, cell membrane biology, inflammation, lab interpretation, therapeutic dosing, and combination strategies.

 

Module 7: Cardiometabolic Health (2 days)
Blood pressure, lipid profile, blood glucose, HbA1c, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, lifestyle interventions, exercise, supplements.

 

Module 8: Hormonal System & Women’s Health (4 days)
Thyroid, cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone. Topics include fertility, pregnancy, breastfeeding, PMS, endometriosis, menopause. Cycle tracking and phytotherapy.

 

Module 9: Neurology & Neurodiversity (5 days)
ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, dementia, Alzheimer’s. Neurotransmitters, the microbiome-brain axis, nutrients, and lifestyle strategies in neurological practice.

 

Module 10: Mental Health & Mindset Work (7 days)
Stress management, mindfulness, movement therapy, NLP, coaching techniques, systemic work, color therapy, energy healing, prayer. Behavioral change and practical integration into therapy.

 

Module 11: Environmental Toxins & Detoxification (2 days)
Xenobiotics, heavy metals, mold, pesticides. Detoxification organs, detox phases, chelation, elimination procedures, safe support for sensitive patients.

 

Module 12: Functional Pediatrics (2 days)
We navigate through all aspects of health of children, from the age of 0-18.

Questioning the parents the right way, understanding the whole context to understand the ailments like: 

  • digestion issues: indigestion reflux as a baby, obesity

  • cognitive & mental health: delayed development, fear, anxiety, ADS & ADHD, autism and on the spectrumm neurodiversity, child regulation, bonding

  • Skin and immunity: dermatitis, psoriasis, immune deficiency, allergies

  • emotional health: trauma, neglect and structure or over stimulation

  • Tests we perform with kids and learn according to age: microbiome, hormonal test in teenagers, blood, omega 6:3 test and many more

 

Module 13: Marketing & Positioning (2 days)
How to establish: 

  1. your visibility as a Functional Medicine Coach

  2. Learn about target audiences, branding, website,

  3. offer structure, communication,

  4. legal aspects, collaborations

  5. Pricing

 

Certification:
After completing all modules, passing interim exams, and submitting a successful final thesis, you will receive the certificate “Functional Medicine Coach.” The training is designed to be compatible with professional practice and is highly practical.
